Location and LodgingAll Stats Camps courses will be held at SpringHill Suites by Marriott, One Riverfront Plaza (corner of 6th St. and New Hampshire), Lawrence. A block of rooms has been reserved; phone 785-841-2700 to receive the special rate of $79 per night plus tax, king or double queen, be sure to mention Stats Camps when you make your reservation. SpringHill Suites offers a free continental breakfast, complimentary wireless Internet access, a pool and workout facilities. Transportation Kansas City International Airport (MCI) is located approximately 52 miles (84 km) northeast of Lawrence. No refunds will be made after that date. KU Continuing Education reserves the right to cancel the institute and return all fees in the event of insufficient registration. The liability of the University of Kansas is limited to the registration fee. The University of Kansas will not be responsible for any losses incurred by registrants, including but not limited to airline cancellation charges or hotel deposits. SMEP Minority Fellowships AvailableThe Society of Multivariate Experimental Psychology (www.smep.org) is offering a trial scholarship for minority scholars to attend our summer institutes. For the purposes of the SMEP minority fellowships, minority is defined as Latino/a, African American, or Native American. Prospective students should submit an application for a fellowship that includes copies of transcripts, a declaration of minority status, a statement of financial need, and a short personal statement that must address what you wish to accomplish from taking a summer institute course, including both short-term and long-term goals. The application deadline is April 2, 2009 (two months prior to the start of the summer institutes) and 1 week before the early bird registration period expires. All received applications will be reviewed by the faculty who teach the summer institute courses. We will rank order the candidates based on merit and need. Funds are limited, so not all applicants will receive support.
